This course gives you an opportunity to experience one of the best bouldering scenes in the world. Areas like Stanage, Burbage and the Roaches make bouldering in the Peak District hard to resist!

The course is tailored to your specific needs, from complete novices to regular crag users. There can be a focus on how to start and the skills and techniques you will need to get moving and having fun.

Course topics include:

  • Bouldering safety and spotting
  • Using guidebooks effectively
  • Grades, venues and rock types
  • Style and technique
  • Maximising success through strategy
  • What is training and what can you do?
  • Where to go next?

Minimum of 2 people, up to 8.  Days do not have to be consecutive.  Having your own climbing shoes and chalk bag is useful to get the most out of each course, however there is a small number of each available to rent (£2).  All other equipment is provided.

    BEGINNERS OUTDOOR CLIMBING COURSE

    A one or two day course, with a maximum ratio of 1;4 per instructor. This course is designed to teach you all the basics you need to know about Rock Climbing. Once completed you should have the knowledge and understanding to start climbing safely and have fun developing your skills and entering into the magical and rewarding climbing world.Course content:

  • Top roping & bottom roping
  • How to belay
  • Climbing style and technique
  • Anchors and gear placement (ground level)
  • Effective use of guidebooks
  • Where to go next
  • The Beginners course has been designed for novices. The two day course will allow us to hone the basic skills of climbing safely, further climbing coaching and you will get the chance to visit another location. These aspects will give you a greater knowledge and feel for what rock climbing is all about.Minimum of 4 people, up to 6.  Days have to be consecutive.  Having your own climbing shoes, chalk bag, and harness is useful to get the most out of each course, however there is a small number of each available to rent (£2).  All other equipment is provided.

    ADVANCED OUTDOOR CLIMBING COURSE

    The advanced climbing course seeks to operate as the next step after consolidating the information and skills learnt from the beginners course. An introduction to lead (traditional or sport) climbing, whilst operating within the safety of top rope systems to maximise development without compromising safety.We will go through:

  • How to place a variety of hardware
  • Rope work and how to avoid common issues
  • Equipment set ups and how to set up efficiently and effectively
  • Outdoor ethics and terminology
  • Appropriate use of the relevant guidebooks and grade systems
  • Plenty of climbing!
  • Minimum of 4 people. Having your own climbing shoes, chalk bag, and harness is useful to get the most out of each course, however there is a small number of each available to rent (£2). All other equipment is provided.

    FAMILY ROCK AND ABSEILING FUN

    Are you wanting a real mix of upwards and downwards progress? The Family Rock & Abseiling days provide the chance to achieve what you may never have imagine and overcome any fears of heights while you doing it!This outdoor day out is an ideal introduction to the real world of climbing for all the family. We will be aiming to get stuck into as much climbing as we can manage and giving plenty of opportunities to work together encouraging and helping each other through physical and mental challenges.Minimum of 4 people, up to 6.  Days do not have to be consecutive.  Having your own climbing shoes, chalk bag, and harness is useful to get the most out of each course, however there is a small number of each available to rent (£2). All other equipment is provided.

    A TASTE OF OUTDOOR ROCK CLIMBING

    This taster day is perfect for novice climbers looking for a fun day out in the Peak District. Experience a rock climbing extravaganza and encourage (or laugh at) your family and/or friends as you tackle climbing in its original form. An abseil can also become a part of the day, abseiling down scary heights and sheer drops to invigorate even more adrenaline fuelled fun.Book for the two days and extend the fun and excitement to a different venue and see how you can quickly improve!Minimum of 4 people, up to 8.  Days do not have to be consecutive. Having your own climbing shoes, chalk bag and harness is useful to get the most out of each course, however there is a small number of each available to rent (£2). All other equipment is provided.

    INTENSIVE CLIMBING COURSE

    This 3 day Rock Climbing course gives you the chance to take advantage of many classic and varied venues the Peak has to offer. We look at giving you essential climbing skills guiding you from zero to hero in your rock climbing journey.Example Schedule:

  • Monday – Beginners Climbing Course (or Intermediate techniques depending on level)
  • Tuesday – Improvers Climbing Course (furthering your climbing abilities on classic
    routes)
  • Wednesday – Bouldering Development (Intro & development of your climbing abilities)
